We would like to clarify the position in relation to the funding of NQF and QCF accredited qualifications. As you are aware, ABC Awards (ABC) has been steadily redeveloping its NQF portfolio of qualifications to take them onto the Qualifications and Credit Framework for 2010. We are working closely with over 20 sector skills councils to significantly expand our offer of vocational and competence qualifications from Entry Level to Level Six. Centres delivering ABC Additional and Specialist Learning (ASL) as a component award of the (14-19) Diploma must claim certification no later than the 31st July. Any claims received after this date may miss the deadline for Diploma aggregation.

Following a review of the ABC Awards partnership organisation, with effect from 20 April 2009 the administration of qualifications previously managed at the Reading Office will transfer to the Nottingham Office.
All centres affected will be fully informed of the new arrangements and contact details. There will be no impact beyond this change of administration, location and contacts and your moderation arrangements will continue as planned.

ABC Awards has received confirmation from UCAS regarding tariffs for the following qualifications.
Points for the Level 3 Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art, Design & Media are - Distinction 285, Merit 225, Pass 165. Points for the Level 3 Diploma in Fashion Retail are - Distinction 160, Merit 120, Pass 80.

ABC Awards is pleased to announce the accreditation of the new Level 3 and Level 4 Diplomas in Foundation Studies Art, Design & Media. LSC National Office has confirmed that they will fund both levels of these new qualifications and that funding will be available on the same basis as the former Level 3 Diploma in Foundation Studies (Art & Design) qualification i.e. calculated on the basis of 645 Guided Learning Hours
Existing ABC centres wishing to transfer learners from the Level 3 Diploma in Foundation Studies (Art & Design) at no additional charge, to the new qualification should contact the ABC Nottingham office on 0115 854 1623.
