1 Assessments
ABC Awards (ABC) authorises educational establishments which hold a licence issued by the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) to make single or multiple copies of the whole or part of practice assessments for which ABC holds the copyright, subject to the following conditions:
1.1 Copies of authorised materials* are made for use either during a course of instruction or during the preparation for assessment.
1.2 Copies of authorised materials are restricted to the personal use of each learner during the course of instruction.
1.3 Centres must not copy live external examination papers unless, under exceptional circumstances, they have been authorised by ABC to do so.

2 Learners’ Assessment Evidence
2.1 Any copying by the centre of assessment evidence i.e. examination scripts or other assessment evidence produced by the learner should be subject to the centre’s own Data Protection Policies and procedures apropos the rights of the individual.

3 Other ABC published works
3.1 Standard CLA regulations apply to the copying of qualification specifications, guidance notes and other ABC publications i.e. Examination Officers’ Guide for which ABC holds the copyright, subject to the following variance:
3.1.1 ABC authorises the production of additional copies in whole or part for personal use by those teaching, assessing and internally moderating within the centre. The centre is required to ensure that such copies remain within its control.
3.1.2 Copies in part may be made for the personal use of learners during their programme of study.

4 Customised Provision
4.1 The copyright of the aims and learning outcomes of all new and re-approved customised provision is assigned to ABC.
4.2 The learning and assessment materials developed by the centre in support of the application for approval remain the copyright of the centre.

5 Name and Logo
5.1 Any use of the ABC name (other than relating to a qualification’s title) and logo is strictly forbidden unless permission has been obtained from ABC’s Marketing Manager. ABC Awards permits the use of its logo only where it is to be used to promote ABC products and services. The use of the logo is monitored to ensure compliance with this policy.
