ABC Customised Provision
As a recognised and approved awarding body, ABC Awards is in a position to approve and certificate courses devised at individual centres to meet local needs.
ABC Awards currently validates Customised Provision Programmes. Any centre seeking external recognition by ABC Awards for a programme should discuss their requirements with ABC Awards Director of Business Development who will explain the procedures and associated costs.
All ABC Awards Customised Provision courses are reviewed and approved by specialists and moderated to the same standard as the qualifications in our NQF Portfolio.
The specified assessments will normally be reviewed towards the end of the course, during a visit to the centre by a Moderator. Additional visits required by the awarding body, or advisory visits requested, will be charged at the same rate. Where a course runs more than once a year, postal moderation will also take place.
Please note that decisions on funding in the 2007/2008 teaching year are a matter for the LSC to determine in accordance with its control criteria. It is the responsibility of the centre to fulfil all the requirements set out by the LSC and external auditors.
For all ABC Awards’ Customised Provision, approval will be given for one year, and annually extended subject to satisfactory moderation and receipt of further registrations. If no registrations are received for two consecutive years, approval will lapse. Centres must apply for re-approval if subsequently they wish to register learners. All learners enrolled on Customised Provision must be registered. These registrations must be submitted to ABC Awards in line with its learner registration policy.
Copyright for newly approved and re-approved Customised Provision, formerly known as centre-devised, is assigned to ABC Awards. Copyright only applies to the course aims, objectives / learning outcomes. Learning materials, schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment materials remain the copyright of the centre.
Please note that a centre’s commercial interests will be protected by ensuring that ABC Awards copyright materials would not be distributed to any other centres within a 20 mile radius.
