NB Examination papers/independent assessments ARE AVAILABLE on the dates and during the period listed below.  Learners DO NOT have to sit examinations whenever papers are available.  Some qualifications offer a choice of period.

Twenty eight working days notice from either the date of the fixed date exam, the first date of a set period exam, or the date of an exam on request, MUST be given when ordering examination papers.  Insufficient notice will result in ABC not being able to provide papers for the fixed date or set period requested

NOTE For Welding & Fabrication Examination Papers: All papers that are required for any set period must be received by ABC Nottingham office 28 working days before the first date of the externally set period; this is irrespective of the actual date of any exam being sat during the set period.  For example, any paper that is required for the winter set period (8th February – 19th February 2010) must have a request at the Nottingham office by no later than 29th December 2009, i.e. 28 working days before the 8th February 2010, which is the first date of the externally set period.

Certain examinations/independent assessments are available ‘on request’.  For these subjects, the requisite number of examination papers must be ordered on the appropriate form at least *twenty eight working days before the chosen date for examination.

ABC QCF Qualifications Update

The majority of ABC Awards' qualifications have now been migrated from NQF qualifications to the QCF. Qualification/funding updates with further information on the migration to QCF are now available for:

Level 3 & 4 Foundation Diplomas in Art, Design & Media Now Approved on the QCF

ABC is pleased to announce that its Level 3 and 4 Foundation Diplomas are now approved on the QCF and will appear in the LSC April 2010 list for an August 2010 delivery.  The accreditation end date for these qualifications is now 31.12.2012.  The guided learning hours for both qualifications have been increased from 600 hours to 720 hours.

ABC Gains Ofqual Recogition as a QCF Awarding Organisation

ABC has been fully recognised by Ofqual as a QCF awarding organisation. This means that it is now able to extend the accreditation life of current QCF qualifications beyond December 2010. ABC will be working with relevant SSCs to extend all current QCF provision as quickly as possible.

All new qualifications will be recognised for the QCF and will be approved beyond December 2010. ABC intends to replace the majority of its remaining NQF qualifications with updated provision on the QCF as soon as possible. All plans are subject to SSC approval and timescales. Posted 4.2.10
