The Institute of Employability Professionals (IEP) and ABC Awards have joined forces to offer qualifications to the employability sector.
The new partnership, launched at the ERSA Conference in London on Monday 2nd December, will pave the way for employability practitioners who are committed to providing effective employability skills to their customers by encouraging and supporting professional development through a range of qualifications and membership services.
Employability professionals work in a range of settings across the sector, which is home to tens of thousands of practitioners in private and public organisations as well as charities that help jobseekers into sustainable work.
In order to deliver excellent results, practitioners must themselves be equipped with up-to-date knowledge, skills and competencies to ensure they meet the needs of their customer groups. This calls for sector relevant qualifications with progression opportunities.
Recognised by the IEP as the preferred Awarding Organisation for employability, ABC Awards offers a comprehensive suite of employability qualifications, which can also be tailored to suit individual needs:
Paul Eeles, CEO of ABC Awards said “As a vocational qualifications awarding organisation, ABC Awards firmly believes that the professionalism of the workforce of the future relies on the quality and expertise of those delivering training at the coal-face.
These skills have to be learned and developed through qualifications and the support of the IEP through its professional networks. Nationally recognised qualifications, coupled with membership of IEP, give an individual status and recognition as well as better job prospects. We are delighted to be working together to achieve these common aims.”
Declan Swan, Director of IEP commented “IEP is delighted to have formed this partnership with ABC Awards. This means that employers and their staff can now acquire both professional recognition and a relevant qualification from us. This will enhance their career prospects in this dynamic and growing sector. This partnership takes our professionalisation agenda to the next level.”
To get qualified, contact ABC Awards on 0115 854 1620 or email email@example.com to find your nearest centre.
Centres who wish to deliver the ERS Suite of qualifications can follow a simple process to gain Recognised status by contacting Fiona Grant on 0115 854 1314 or Ann Fowell on 0115 854 1630.

ABC Awards is a leading national awarding organisation which has a long-established reputation for developing and awarding high quality vocational qualifications.
We work with over 900 centres nationally and many tens of thousands of learners achieve an ABC Awards qualification each year.
Established in 1998, ABC Awards combines more than 180 years of examination and assessment expertise but at the same time integrates a responsive, flexible and innovative approach to the needs of our customers.
As a registered charity and now part of the EMFEC Group, ABC Awards is in its second decade as an FE sector-owned awarding organisation.
Why choose ABC Awards?
Our comprehensive portfolio of over 600 Ofqual regulated qualifications covers 12 industry sectors and is designed for all ages and abilities post-14.
We have developed all of our qualifications with the support of relevant stakeholders to make sure that they meet the needs and standards of industries across the UK. This means that ABC Awards qualifications give learners the skills they need to find employment, progress within education and training or enhance their skills within their current job roles.
We understand that providers and learners don’t all want the same thing from their learning experience so we offer centres the flexibility to combine any number of our qualifications and/or units to create a programme which is tailored to their needs.
An experienced and knowledgeable team
Our friendly and responsive approach to customers means that all our centres have access to a dedicated Centre Support Officer and Business Development Manager who can answer any queries that you may have.
Our moderators are all subject specialists and are chosen by us for their experience, knowledge and ability to support centres to deliver ABC qualifications successfully.
