Qualifications & Credit Framework
ABC Gains Ofqual Recogition as a QCF Awarding Organisation
ABC has been fully recognised by Ofqual as a QCF awarding organisation. This means that it is now able to extend the accreditation life of current QCF qualifications beyond December 2010. ABC will be working with relevant SSCs to extend all current QCF provision as quickly as possible.
All new qualifications will be recognised for the QCF and will be approved beyond December 2010. ABC intends to replace the majority of its remaining NQF qualifications with updated provision on the QCF as soon as possible. All plans are subject to SSC approval and timescales.

The QCF and ABC Awards
The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) is a new way of recognising achievement through the award of credit for units and qualifications.
From 2008 ABC Awards has been migrating qualifications from the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) onto the QCF - to be completed by 2010. During this period, qualifications may appear on both Frameworks until the transition is complete. If centres are unsure about which Framework a qualification appears on, check the ABC Awards Qualifications Directory for the latest information. Alternatively contact the qualification administrator at the relevant ABC office.
Information about the QCF can be found here www.qca.org.uk/qca_19674.aspx - What is the QCF?
These two documents are useful for centres to discover more about the way qualifications are moving forward.
