Administrator, ABC Reading Office

The position of Administrator has become available to deal with qualifications administration in our busy office in Reading.  This is a full-time appointment to commence as soon as possible.  The salary will be circa £16k dependent upon qualifications and experience. 

Employed by AOSEC you will be part of a dedicated team for the provision of examination / assessment services to ABC Awards. The person appointed will report directly to the ABC Awards Office Manager in Reading, but will be subject to the employment terms and conditions determined by AOSEC as applicable to all full time permanent positions.

Some travelling to other ABC offices and relevant meetings will be required.

Candidates should be qualified to at least level 2 and preferably have an understanding of the education sector and specifically vocational qualifications.  They should have some experience of working with a team and being responsible for their individual work load, and must be flexible and willing to learn new skills.

Administrator, ABC Taunton Office

ABC Awards is a QCA recognised national awarding body with a large portfolio of qualifications offered to centres (colleges, schools and private training organisations). It has four owning partners (AOSEC, CENTRA, EMFEC and Learning South West) and operates out of four regionally based offices.

The position of Administrator has become available to deal with qualifications administration in our busy office in Taunton. Employed by Learning South West you will be part of a dedicated team for the provision of examination/assessment services to ABC Awards. The person appointed will report directly to the ABC Awards Office Manager in Taunton, but will be subject to the employment terms and conditions determined by Learning South West as applicable to all full time, permanent positions.

The person appointed will be based at the ABC Awards Office, Bishops Hull House, Bishops Hull, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 5EP. Some travelling to other ABC offices and relevant meetings will be required.

ABC Awards Qualifications in the Fashion Sector 2008/2009

Skillfast-UK, the Sector Skills Council for Fashion and Textiles, has been working in collaboration with its key Awarding Bodies on the review, reform and fast track of sector relevant qualifications onto the Qualifications Credit Framework. We acknowledge that it will take some time to complete this review and whilst that is planned Skillfast-UK has agreed to support the extension to the following ABC Awards qualifications until 31st July 2009.

Level 1 and 2 Sewing and Textiles
Level 2 and 3 Pattern Cutting
Level 2 Apparel, Footwear and Leather Production
Level 3 Apparel and Footwear
And the majority of the Level 3 Fashion PDAs

These extensions are in the QCA system at the moment and should be complete in the next two weeks. Article in full

Level 3 & Level 4 Diplomas in Foundation Studies in Art, Design & Media

ABC Awards is pleased to announce the accreditation of the new Level 3 and Level 4 Diplomas in Foundation Studies Art, Design & Media. LSC National Office has confirmed that they will fund both levels of these new qualifications and that funding will be available on the same basis as the former Level 3 Diploma in Foundation Studies (Art & Design) qualification i.e. calculated on the basis of 645 Guided Learning Hours

Existing ABC centres wishing to transfer learners from the Level 3 Diploma in Foundation Studies (Art & Design) at no additional charge, to the new qualification should contact the ABC Reading office on 0118 378 2520.
