About The Qualification
This qualification has been developed in collaboration with industry, providers and Lantra. It develops practical skills, promotes sound working practices that are fully in accordance with Animal Welfare requirements, and fosters effective communication skills, team-working, and customer satisfaction. Learners will complete this qualification with a concrete understanding of the following:
- Available units include: Implement, monitor and evaluate plans for the health and welfare of animals, Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace, Plan, supervise and control the movement of animals, Plan diets and feeding regimes for animals, Provide information on how to maintain the behaviour, health and welfare of animals, and more
Progression Routes: What's Next?
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to other ABC Level 3 qualifications such as the Work-Based Diplomas in Zoos/ Wildlife Establishments, Dog Grooming, Pet Care and Retail or Animal Training. Alternatively they could progress into further employment, gain promotion to a more senior position within existing employment.
